Prop firm consistency rule calculator
Paste each day's P/L and see right away whether your best day weighs too much, how much profit you still need before requesting a payout, and how much you can make tomorrow without getting blocked again.

Your rule's limit: 40%
- Total profit
- $2,550
- Best day
- $1,200
- Total profit needed
- $3,000
- Still to earn
- $450
- Largest day for the next session
- $1,700
At your average winning day ($552), 1 more winning day.
It accounts for that day also adding to the total. Go above it and it becomes your new best day, raising the bar.
Your days
Green: winning days (darkest = best day). Orange: days above the current limit. Red: losses. Last 40 shown.
Reference math. Each firm decides whether it measures against total profit or the target, gross or net, and from when it counts (account start or last payout). Check your account rules. Jornalo is not affiliated with any prop firm. Not financial advice.
How the consistency rule works
Three ideas explain almost every consistency-blocked payout.
Best day ÷ total profit
Divide your best day's profit by everything you have made. If the result is above your firm's percentage, the payout waits. The minimum total you need is your best day divided by that percentage.
Losing days count too
The denominator is your current total profit, not the target. A red day shrinks the total and raises the ratio: you can be blocked again without any new big day.
Some firms measure against the target
In Topstep's Trading Combine the best day is compared with the profit target. Going over does not fail you: the target rises until your best day fits again.

Frequently asked questions
How is the consistency rule calculated?
Your best day's profit is divided by total profit for the period the firm counts. With a $1,200 best day and $3,000 accumulated you sit at 40%; under a 30% rule you need $4,000 (1,200 ÷ 0.30) without a bigger day.
How much can I make tomorrow without getting blocked again?
If you pass now, the largest day is total × rule ÷ (1 − rule), because that day also adds to the total. With $3,000 and a 30% rule that is about $1,285, not $900. The calculator shows it as "largest day for the next session".
Does the rule reset after a payout?
It depends on the firm: some count from the day the account opened and others from the last payout. If yours resets, paste only the days after the last payment; with Jornalo, set that date in "Since" when loading your days.
Is it computed on gross or net profit?
Each firm defines it in its rules, and the difference matters: a $1,100 gross day can be $1,000 net. Jornalo loads net P/L (after commissions) per trading day on Chicago time; if your firm uses gross, paste your own figures.
